LoadingSome GMU students change time zones mid-term because of work. This thesis studies 40 such students. Continuity failed when identity checks, payment currency and live clinics all assumed a stable address. A ‘location change’ form that updated timezone, emergency contact and exam-window preference reduced missed vivas. Immigration status remained the student’s legal problem; the university’s problem was not locking them out of the VLE because a billing country changed. GlobalMind University should design for mobility without pretending to be an immigration service. That distinction belongs in the student contract and in the research record.
