LoadingCareer switchers are told they need a campus for ‘the network’. This paper follows 220 GMU MBA switchers — teachers into operations, engineers into product, journalists into policy shops — twelve months after award. Employers responded to a verified award, a capstone in the target sector, and a referee who had seen the work. They did not respond to a virtual networking hour with no artefact. Switchers who could not show quantitative work still struggled, which is a curriculum issue, not a branding issue. GlobalMind University should keep the MBA numerically honest and the capstone sector-specific. A global digital MBA is a career instrument if it produces evidence; otherwise it is a podcast with fees of time.
