LoadingAnalyse how remote teams actually misunderstand each other—turn-taking, offset, and hub languages—not tourist ‘culture tips’.
Online only

Intercultural communication in 2026 is mostly asynchronous text plus the occasional live call at a cruel hour. This MA treats that as the object of study: turn-taking in chat, the politics of cameras, the person who writes ‘as discussed’ when half the team was asleep, and the hub agent who translates a complaint into English that the marker will actually read. GlobalMind University offers an optional Spanish assessment pathway on this programme because a large share of the remote workforce and of GMU’s own support traffic is Spanish-speaking. Portuguese and Hindi hubs still do not silently re-mark English papers. You will contrast high-context workplace chat with the bluntness of incident tickets, and you will refuse both essentialist national cartoons and the claim that English is culturally empty. The degree does not make you a diplomat or a UN officer. It makes you able to write a communication protocol a distributed university or firm can actually staff across meridians. Methods work uses tickets, chat exports, and seminar recordings with consent and anonymisation. You will practise a live seminar that is fair to at least two meridian blocks and write a hub protocol that states when translation is support and when it would become ghost marking. Optional Spanish assessment is listed on the relevant modules so nobody has to guess. Portuguese and Hindi remain support languages unless a bilingual brief is approved in writing. No diplomatic academy is implied, and no UN intercultural logo will appear in your assessed slides.
Thirty-six credits: theory for distributed settings, hub and language politics, research methods for digital discourse, and a supervised analysis capstone. Optional Spanish assessment where stated on the module.
